Tips on wearing contact lenses

As some of you may have known, I have started wearing contact lenses for about 1 week. No, I haven’t been wearing contact lenses in the past and have been living on a blurred vision for some time – I only wear my specs when I needed clear vision, like the World AIDS Day Event! It’s very embarrassing when someone you know is waving at you and you don’t really know who he/she is…

I have always wanted to try wearing contacts, but I seriously doesn’t really like the idea of sticking something onto my eyes. After meeting Smith, Hong Wei and Irene when Jeff was in Singapore, instead of going home to do my work as planned, I made an impulsive decision and went straight to my optician (Apex Optics) at Tanjong Katong Shopping Centre to get my contact lenses.

I must say that my optician didn’t really do a good job in teaching me how to put on the contact lenses, though the price of his lenses are much cheaper. Other than telling me what to do which is available in the brochure, he kinda left me to struggle to put on my contact lenses. The lady boss was nicer though, she was there helping me to clean my contact lens after every each failed attempt. Guess what? I took 30 mins to put on my contacts.

When I went to another optician (Pearl Optical) to collect my Acuvue Oasys trial pack, I told the optician that I am new to this and she actually gave me some tips which worked!

• Make sure that the lens is wet, so that it will stick onto your eye.
• After successfully sticking it on your eye, look left, right, up, down (and repeat) to remove the air bubbles between your eye and the lens, while still holding on to your eyelids wide open
• Release the lower lid slowly, followed by the upper lid,

Now, I take less than 5 minutes to put on the contact lenses. Hope it will work for you too! Of course, it will get better with practice

Anyone has good lobang to share for getting Acuvue Moist? I am paying $45 per pack of 30 now. I know JB is selling is at about SGD $38… If you know, share with me ok?
