Congratulations! And in conjunction with SG Tidbits 365 Online Contest, 24seven organised a exclusive bloggers’ tour to S’pore Discovery Centre! This is the first time that I am visiting as a visitor after it’s revamp as my former workplace love to use them as a venue for National Education seminars.

I seriously think I am way too old for this place! The younger bloggers were all having fun with the various interactive there! I am beyond the age where I will try out all these types of interactive. Haha!

We also did meet Little George, the resident robot there! I first met him when I was Sec 3 during a school visit. Hmm. That was like 13 years ago? Time really flies…

Leading us to places like Dairy Farm Nature Park, Singapore Quarry and the abandoned railway tracks at Sunset Way was Geng Hui, an aspiring photojournalist of 20 years experience! Here are some shots from the outing…

TK_ also brought his 2 dogs, Bear Bear and Bruno for this outing! Here’s an emo shot of Bear Bear at the Singapore Quarry and this is my favourite shot for that day!

Getting onto the railway tracks was not an easy task. We had to climb up a slope which was slippery and there were also a lot of creepy crawlers! Most of the people in the following shot totally forgotten about the experience that they had walked in a single file on the railway track. This is what I call selective memory loss!

After the shoot, some of us proceeded to Hougang for durian and after that we tried the beef noodle at Hock Lam beef! Not sure if it is due to the after taste of the durian, I don’t find the beef worth raving about.

To end of the day, we visited 24seven office at Upper Serangoon Road Shopping Centre and played with Yuniko! Trust me, Nadnut is really good at playing with cats!

The was a small discussion during 24seven’s Snap Snap Nov on Yuuichi’s gender. I’ve checked on Pinky:Uni and they have stated that Yuuichi is a he! Same for HobbyLink Japan!

Where on earth can you catch F1 night racing in a Street Circuit and to even view it from 165 metres above the ground?

Only in Singapore!

Clauds and I got a pair of the tickets each from 24seven to experience F1 at the Singapore Flyer last Saturday (Qualifying Race) and we brought Cl0udi3 and Qiquan along with us! Even though I just had my virgin Singapore Flyer visit just one Saturday before this, I was extremely excited when I was notified that I’ve been given the Singapore Flyer F1 Level 1 Access tickets! While we were recalled back last minute to work full day on Saturday at the office, this did not dampen our mood for this event!

Given to the massive road closure in town, the package includes a 2-way Hippo River Cruise ride which brought us from Clarke Quay to the Singapore Flyer! We had 2 rides on the Singapore Flyer – one before the race and 1 during the race! While the actual Level 1 Access package only comes with 1 Singapore Flyer ticket, we had the Media Passes which entitle us unlimited rides!

The view from the top was great, but too bad, my Sony Cybershot H20 did not really perform very well this time round as the vehicles move really fast! We could still hear the engine sound from the top! Since the Singapore Flyer ride was about 30 minutes, we had the remaining 20 minutes to view the F1 racing at the ground level.

This is when I got to know the reason of it being called the “Level 1 package” – Sorry, no access to level 2 viewing area, ok? So in the end, we braved through the loud noise produced by the F1 vehicles without any ear plugs and positioned ourselves pretty near to the race track!

It was great to experience F1 in person at the event ground! More photos can be found in my flickr set! This is a truly “Uniquely Singapore” experience where you can’t get anywhere else! A big thank you to 24Seven for having us there!

Wah biang. I am like super suaku right?! I finally had my first visit on the Singapore Flyer last Saturday, which was a really busy day for most of us! We had Social Media Breakfast in the morning, SingTel INQ Mini 3G event in the afternoon and a visit to the Singapore Flyer in the evening!

The view up there was breathtaking and we are lucky to get a view that happens only once a year! Yeah! It is going to be the Singapore GP Season soon!

This is definitely an Uniquely Singapore experience for me. I’ve told myself that I must go up to the Singapore Flyer again when Marina Sands and the new financial district is in operation! I am sure the view will be even more spectacular!

I had a brief encounter the SingTel INQ Mini 3G at the launch event yesterday by the invitation of 24seven. Prior to the event, there were some discussion on twitter that SingTel INQ Mini 3G is overhyped, which I beg to differ. The tweeps were comparing SingTel INQ Mini 3G with Smartphones like HTC Hero and iPhone!

Hello? You can’t really compare a budget car like Chery QQ, with a luxury car like Mercedes right?

My iPhone was running low on batt when I reached the event location yesterday after a morning of tweeting at SMBSG7. The peeps from 24Seven were kind enough to allow me to charge my iPhone! The best thing was, they loaned me a SingTel INQ Mini 3G to relieve my twitter withdrawal.

My short rendezvous with SingTel INQ Mini 3G was a pretty good one! While it felt a little sluggish at times, it managed to serve my needs! There are a few features that I liked about this phone:

1. It does “RT UserID” when you retweet. Most twitter apps on iPhone don’t retweet this way, you know!
2. It downloads your Facebook phone contacts into your phone!
3. It connects to Windows Live Messenger!
4. You get notifications in the phone inbox when you receive a message on Facebook.

Of course we do not expect phone that is ZERO DOLLARS (2 years 3G Flexi Lite AMPed plan or the iOne Plus Youth plan) to be perfect, right? Here are some limitations of this phone:

1. It doesn’t show mentions and replies on twitter.
2. The Facebook application is linked to the Mobile Web version for most of the time.
3. You can’t upload photo taken using the built in camera to facebook or twitpic it. (Correction: Photos can be uploaded to Facebook from the Picture Album app, not from the Facebook app.)

The NDP Combine Rehearsal 2 was a blast! Even without the presences of the MediaCorp Artistes, actual costumes for some of the acts and goodie bags, I am still very impressed by the entire show concept of this year’s NDP! If you had followed #ndp09 in the evening, you would have seen quite a bit of tweets from the few of us!

This year’s NDP is a like a major disco party. They have remixed version of the National Day songs and even an acapella version of Majulah Singapura! Most of us were singing to the familar tunes! Hope the organisers will upload the remixed songs on the NDP website!

Singa, the Courtesy Lion

Not to be missed in this NDP is the special appearance by Singa, the Courtesy Lion, starring as the lion which Sang Nila Utama spotted when he set his foot on Temasek in “Chapter 1″! The show organisers certainly have a sense of humour

Pole Dancer

Oh yeah! I was very surprised when I saw pole dancing in one of the acts! It certainly shows that Singapore is more open these days. Who will dare to approve this act in the past, right?

Well… I shall not be a spoiler here! NDP 09 is a must see for all Singaporeans! Some of the photos that I have taken have been uploaded to my facebook album!

Anyone with extra tickets that you are able to spare me for actual day? I would love to catch the actual day event! Hee…
