2011 April 13

Norton 360 V5.0

Did you know that Norton 360 version 5.0 has recently achieved a 100 percent protection score for online threat detection by a third-party testing by Dennis Technology Labs? This third-party testing has scenarios designed to simulate how typical users get infected while performing real-world online activities on their computers.

This latest version of Norton 360 features the Norton Control Center which has a new user interface to give users a snapshot of security controls, settings and information about the PC’s protection and performance status. Given the wide spread usage of Facebook in this day and age, users also check their Facebook wall and news feeds for bad links and other threats using the Norton Safe Web for Facebook tool.

Apart from its superior PC security protection capabilities, the Norton 360 version 5.0 also includes performance improvements to PC Tuneup and Automated Backup!

  • The PC Tuneup now features a faster registry cleaner that fine-tunes key system settings and frees up memory, so applications start up and run more quickly and removes unnecessary files to improve hard drive performance.
  • The Automated Backup features a speedier backup and restore performance, and also reduced system impact. Norton 360 version 5.0 also updates consumers with progress indicators throughout the backup process and encrypts files backed up online for an extra layer of security.

The suggested retail price of Norton 360 version 5.0 is S$65 (one PC license) and S$129 (three PC license) for the standard editions including 2GB of online storage space, and S$149 for the premium edition (three PC license) including 25GB of online storage space. The price for both standard and premium editions includes a one-year subscription to use the product and receive Symantec’s protection updates.
