He’s a Woman, She’s a Man?

I am not talking about the movie “He’s a Woman, She’s a Man” (金枝玉葉), but an artiste whom I learn about during my previous KTV session with my Good Friends.

This artiste is 張芸京. Foong Er asked us whether this artiste is a Man or Woman judging by he name. The name of sounds feminine and my gut feel tells me that she is a woman.

The next thing my friend did was to play the song in analogue and here’s the MTV that I found from Youtube.

Is he a man or is she a woman? I was puzzled. Looks almost like a Man. Sounds very much like a Man. Could it be a case that his parent’s give him a more feminine name, I wondered.

30 seconds after playing the MTV, Foong Er told us that 張芸京 is a woman. *face palm*

In fact, one of the YES 93.3 deejay actually made the effort to call up the recording company to verify 張芸京’s gender. Over the air, he actually wonder how it will be if 張芸京 team up with 青峰 from 蘇打綠 (Sodagreen), who is famous for his feminine vocal, in a duet.

Well, the DJ’s wish was answered. The 2 artistes sang a duet during Kaohsiung 2009 Countdown Party in Taiwan! Here’s the video…
